Triumph

Last Thursday's gig at The Alleycat in London was a huge sucess.
We all really enjoyed ourselves and I personally feel itchy for more Lovedays gigs.
We shall see....

A big thank you to Val, Michelle & Phil for having us. A shout out to the Lovedays Crew; it was great seeing you all again. A special thank you to my entourage Suzanne, Harrison and Jess for looking after me and my gig luggage. Not forgetting the wonderful band mates Ben, Samuel & Josh Roots for making it so special as always.

For those who couln't make it, here is Shindig Magazine's review of the night.

Afterward

For a brief moment in 2011 it looked like The Lovedays would return this year. At a gig at The Eagle, The Lovedays came back and everyone seemed keen to get back to re-kindle the magic which was clearly still there.

It would seem the passion to continue has dulled with the 2012 New Year Bells though, however, do not despair. Ben continues onwards and upwards with a new line up of The Rifle Volunteers.
Check out their website & facebook etc. HERE for news about gigs and goodies.

As for me, I'll be sitting by the fire kicking my heels.........

I'll be closing this down in a few weeks so feel free to steal what like!

The Lights Have All Gone Down.....

Hi Folks,

First of all thanks to everyone who came and saw us at the Style & Winch a few weeks ago. It was great to catch up with a few people I've not seen for quite a while.

It's been an intense and full on year for the Lovedays, from IPO Festivals to Chart ambitions etc. and we've all enjoyed taking the music to new places and higher levels. There have been quite a few rumours, some quite bizarre, over the past week about the future. People have been talking to me as if one of us have died! The truth is we are ta
king the rest of the year off. Beyond that, no decision has been made.

The upside of this, is that it gives Ben a chance to focus and promote his solo material, which I have banged on to him about releasing since I heard it last year.
There is a new website where you can download the new album called "Echobox", check out future dates and news.
Ben Jones Echobox

Sam will still be gigging with the Geoff Everett band, Dean will be learning to play even faster and I'm off to Las Vegas to work as an Elvis impersonator.

To everyone who has donated thier time, money, blood & tears - THANKYOU.

Lounge On The Farm 2010

Yet again I have had the opportunity to support my local festival Lounge On The Farm. This year The Lovedays hit the main stage on Saturday. Any misgivings anyone, including myself, may have had about transferring the raw energy and musicality of the band to a large stage was instantly swept aside as we launched into The House Of Cards. For an early slot we drew a huge crowd, who clearly enjoyed it.

I returned to the festival on Sunday to watch Audio Karma and loads of people stopped me to chat about how much they enjoyed our set. Thank you to everyone who came to see us.

After Audio Karma I managed to see Phil Jupitas & his comedy all-stars pack out the Playhouse tent, one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. The sun has set on another great festival, and with so many other local festivals not happening I can only hope LOTF 2011 will go ahead.
The Lovedays will be returning to their roots at The Style & Winch in Maidstone this Friday, followed by The Forum in Tunbridge Wells the following Wednesday (22nd July).

Hope to see you in the next couple of weeks,

Paul.

Storming The City

Wow!!! For those who weren't there you may have missed one of the best ever Lovedays gigs!

Monday Like It's Friday is held once a month at Peter Parkers Rock & Roll Club in Denmark St. Shelly & Val scour the country looking for good bands & put A&R departments to shame with what I've seen so far.
The evening kicked off with the fantastic voice of Danny Apple then we were entertained by BB3, a brilliant band who were finalists in the Live & Unsigned competition. For their last song they were joined on bass by Eva Gardner, bassist for Pink who just happened to be there last night, along with a few other well known faces.
Then it was our turn to hit the stage. It's always hard to judge just how good a gig is but from where I was standing it seemed electric. But I would like to apologise to all those who nearly got a face-full of bass guitar. It was a great way
to kick off our Storm The Charts week and great to see everyone from Kent who helped pack the venue out.

Speaking of Storm The Charts if anyone can help us continue promoting The House Of Cards in any way possible it would be greatly appreciated. It's a mere 49p on Amazon and as a way of saying thankyou, if you register on the mailing list at the Lovedays website you'll receive an MP3 FREE!

Hope to see you all at The Oranges in Ashford this Friday.

Paul

Now is the time....

Remember how we got everyone and his dog to vote for us on the Storm The Charts website. Well now the time had come to get The Lovedays in the charts.

Obviously we don't expect you to buy the song House of Cards all over again, but if there is any way you could persuade others to that would be great. It's available on iTunes & Amazon. Open a window, play it loud and shout at strangers.

Tonight we kick off this Storm The Charts week with a London gig at Peter Parkers Rock & Roll Club in Denmark Street. What used to be Regent Recording Studios buzzes with musical history and excellent air conditioning. It's going to be a night to remember & we hope we can share it with all of you.

Look forward to seeing you,

Paul
